Gymnastics is a unique sport involving strength, speed, stamina, skill and suppleness.
All sessions start with a group warm up including pulse raising exercises, stretching and some physical preparation. Gymnasts will then rotate around the apparatus in groups around floor exercise, vault, bars, beam and parallel bars. The session finishes with fitness conditioning and then a cool down involving gentle stretching. An hour passes very quickly!
Griffin Gymnastics is affiliated to British Gymnastics, the UK National Governing Body and follows their Core Proficiency Gymnastics Award and Advanced Proficiency schemes. Not only will gymnasts have the opportunity to pass awards, they will also learn the skills from the Key Steps competition routines, in which many local schools take part.
In addition, each gymnast will have personal objectives set by our coaching team and director. In this way everybody will be involved in their own learning and will have the satisfaction and thrill of learning new skills adapted to their own targets.
